Dear prayer partners,
Something unexpectedly came up with Ted Hoover's Passport. To do the story justice would take about 3 years of writing. Ted and his mother have an appointment with the Passport people in Philadelphia on Monday morning, and it is CRITICAL that we get this, or... well, there is no OR. Is has to happen. Please pray that this situation gets resolved quickly and EFFECIENTLY on Monday by 2:00 p.m. Thanks.

Prayer Update for Thai Team May 28 2008
My, my, my, how time flies! We are fast approaching our departure date as a team. I want to personally thank all of you reading this who are praying for us and encouraging us in this journey to Thailand from June 6 to 16 where we are going to visit the BIC team working in Thailand, and more specifically the Ubon province. Let me enourage you all to pray specifically for the following things:
- Probably the most significant event for our team as we are preparing happened just this past week when Sara Kosyk decided to not go along on the journey. While all of us are sad about her need to graciously bow out, we certainly can understand the reasons for it. Her mother recently had surgery, and her rehab is not going as quickly as she had hoped. Sara is the only close family member who lives locally. But the most important reason is that Sara has been having migraine headaches for about a month now. Some days are better, but most days are hard for her physically. And combining that with a 17-hour plane ride to the other side of the world, an overnight train ride to Ubon, and two flights coming home totalling probably 19-20 hours, we figure that Sara would not travel well. We love you, Sara! Please pray that God would heal her and restore her to perfect health.
- Our financial needs are met. Praise God! At the time of this writing, we are pretty sure that all of our financial needs are met for this journey.
- Pray that we would be stretched to grow. I am lookign forward to seeing another culture and finding how I can best serve a team in the middle of some transition there. Andrew my 13-year-old son is really looking forward to growing personally on this journey. Ted Hoover is looking forward to his first plane ride ever (a 17-hour ride is a great one to get your flying feet wet). Cheryl Hershey is looking to see whether God might be calling her into full-time missions. And Scott is definitely looking forward to reconnecting with some very close friends that he has been supprting or a number of years.
- Pray that our details of getting to and from JFK airport will work out, and pray that all the finalized details of tickets, packing, etc. will work out without a hitch.
- Pray specifically for Ted Hoover's passport situation. We are praying that even today God will work this situation out.
That's all for now. Thank you all so very much for your prayers and financial partnership as we travel half a world away. Be blessed! -JK

Welcome!
Greetings, and welcome to our blog! There's not a lot here yet, but that will change in short order.
It's hard to believe that we have just a month to go until we are aboard a plane heading halfway around the word (very literally) to Thailand. Keep checking back here for updates regarding our final preparations, and for daily updates while we are in Thailand.
