Day one...

This is actually Cheryl writing. I was unable to access the blog, so I am using Scotts account.
As John said, we visited a Thai church in Bangkok yesterday. I really appreciated the chance to worship with them. They are really passionate! After church ended, a couple of guys started playing guitar again, someone else a shofar, and a bunch of guys were jumping around the front. The whole atmosephere was one of celebration and joy. Another thing was how close-knit the church was. It was like a family reunion.
We ate lunch with the church before heading to a huge open air market, where we had the chance to do a bit of shopping. After sitting on a plane for 17 hours yesterday it was nice to be up and walking around!
We also went to Baiyoke, the tallest building in Thailand. We arrived there just after sunset, and every direction you looked, you saw the never-ending sea of lights of Bangkok. The highest observation deck was on the 84th floor.
Later today we will be doing some more things around Bangkok before we get on an overnight train tonight and go to Ubon for the rest of our trip.

I am so thankful to hear that you made it to Thailand without any complications! I keep praying that God will speak through you to the Thai people so you will be able to connect with them, and share God's great love with them. Miss you all.
