Well, the first leg of our long journey to Thailand is complete. I'm writing this from our gate at JFK Airport, as we wait for about another 30 minutes before boarding our plane for the LONG flight to Bangkok. Our travels this morning to the airport were uneventful overall, which we are all very thankful for. Everyone was at the church on time, our drive to the airport was smooth (though as the one sitting in the back of the van, I can tell you that the word "smooth" only applies figuratively rather than literally), and we went through check-in and security without incident.
So, we're on our way! Continue to pray for our safety and further uneventful travels.
Let me also encourage you all to use this blog not only to be informed of what we're up to, but also to interact with us. We read this blog in addition to writing for it, and would love to hear your comments, reactions, what you're sensing God telling you as you pray, or anything like that. It's likely that due to time constraints we won't be able to respond to comments, but we'd love to hear from you! Let's not make this a one way line of communication!

That's awesome that you are safely on your way. i will definately be praying for you and that God will use you all to do miraculous things in others' lives.
Have fun
Hey Scott, I hope you're not leaving Chaser in his crate the whole trip! :) Sorry, that was random! Anyhoo, I hope God blesses ya'll and everyone you meet on this trip!
No worries Amanda, that is what roommates are for :)
Scott- listening to your ramblings makes me laugh thinking about trying to figure out who would blog out last years events each night. My very bold prayer for your trip is that God would show up in JUST AS MANY or MORE obvious ways than He did last year!! I know that will be tough to do but I have faith that it will happen. You can assure Ted that God loves Ben and I and Papa John has a plan for our lives...haha...Kathy has previously mentioned quite a few times that she'd like us to lead a 2009 trip. If that holds true, we love to have him hop aboard. Be blessed as you minister!!
