Here we go!

Well, after 6 months of meetings, planning, praying, raising money, packing, and all the other various preparations that go into a trip of this type, we are a mere 8 hours away from departure. It's hard to believe the day is finally here, and for me personally, it's hard to believe that everything is finally ready and in place. Of course, there are likely to bumps in the road along the way, but I believe this team is ready, and I'm extremely excited to get the journey rolling.

As I believe has been previously mentioned, we'll be piling into the McBIC van tomorrow morning at about 5:30 am tomorrow and making our best safe speed to JFK Airport outside New York City, to catch our 11:35 flight direct to Bangkok. Our flight is scheduled to land in Bangkok at 4:10 pm local time on Saturday, which is 5:10 am here. If you're quick with the math, you know tha comes to just over 17 1/2 hours on a plane. Fun indeed!

We'll be met at the Bangkok airport by two of our friends, Jon and Becky, who will take us to our lodging for the first couple days, a guest house in Bangkok.

From this point on, we will endeavor to update the blog on at least a nightly basis. Some of that will depend on the availability of our internet access, but you can expect something along that schedule. One thing to remember is that Thailand is 11 hours ahead of the US East Coast, so for those of you who are locals, remeber that our nightly updates will be morning updates to you.

Please be praying for safety as we travel, and for smooth and easy passage through the airports, customs, etc. We are very thankful for all of you as our supporters, and we look forward to sharing this journey with you as it happens.
